GeoNet Ethanol LLC operates an ethanol dehydration plant on a 13-acre site in St. Croix Renaissance Park. GeoNet has invested more than $50 million in this state-of-the-art facility that produces fuel grade ethanol from renewable sources. The ethanol is sold as a gasoline additive in the U.S. market. The facility came on line in 2007 and can dehydrate up to 100 million gallons of ethanol per year.
GeoNet selected St. Croix Renaissance Park because of its location between the world's two leading ethanol producers: North and South America. "When we were scouting for locations, and we looked at places in the Caribbean and at North and South American and African countries, the U.S. Virgin Islands was, without a doubt, the best location." - Brent Barker, President, GeoNet Ethanol
